Hello Babes and Alf!

Hello Babes and Alf!

I’d like to introduce everyone to Babes and Alf, the stars of Baby Dog World and the most delightful little creatures you’ll ever meet!

A few facts about Babes. She is a 9-year-old Boston Terrier and definitely on the smaller side. I was told she was the runt of the litter. Babes has a super enthusiastic personality whenever she meets new people or dogs, yet she remains incredibly relaxed no matter what’s happening around her.

Babes is a typical Boston: she spends most of her time as a couch potato, punctuated by bursts of intense, high-energy activity. Even at 9:00 p.m., she still has energy left from the day. Her peak activity usually hits around 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. Luckily, I take my lunch break then, making sure she gets some time to run around either in the backyard or inside the house to get a bit of aerobic exercise.

And now we have Alf! He’s a 3-year-old West Highland White Terrier. Alf is a rescue dog that I adopted when he was about one year old. While the details of his early life are unclear, it doesn’t seem to have been very positive.

Alf is very different from Babes. He doesn’t like new things, new people, or new dogs. It took months before he let me hold him. He trusted Babes much sooner, and after patiently getting to know each other over several weeks, he now adores Babes.

Alf’s most active time of the day is usually about 8:00 at night. That’s the time that he loves to play fetch inside in the living room. He loves to pester Babes, he’ll literally pull the blankets out from underneath her until she starts to play with him and it is crazy adorable. Every evening after I take Babes out for the last time, Alf waits around a corner to give Babes a playful jump scare when we come back in!
